Eau Tropicale, a New Summer 2014 Fragrance from Sisley Paris

Many beauty and frangrance brands introduce their summer scents every Spring Summer season, with Sisley Paris not an exception. This year, Sisley launched an amazing summer scent, Eau Tropicale, which became available for sale in March 2014, just in time for spring vacation. The fragrance is available in an Eau de Toilette form and in two sizes, the 1.7 fl.oz (50 ml) and 3.3 fl.oz (100 ml). Inspired by the the atmosphere of a tropical rain forest after the summer storm and rain, the Eau Tropicale is a sparkling fresh floral fragrance, that is perfect for summer. My array of (limited edition) fragrances include: Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder, Beach by Bobbi Brown, Terracota Perfume by Guerlain, Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford, etc., compared to which, Eau Tropicale is very unique. Unlike the other perfumes, clearly suggestive of beach, tanning lotion, water or tropical plants, the Eau Tropicale is a uniquely positioned chypre scent that is unlike the rest summer fragrances out there.

To me, this scent is associated with endless summer time, careless fun and overwhelming happiness. Featuring the exuberant top notes of bergamot, hibiscus, exotic ginger flower, frangipani and passion fruit, the sophisticated composition evolves into the heart notes of fresh violet leaf, tuberose flower and Turkish rose. The base notes present a perfectly balanced blend of patchouli, cedar, and ambrette seed of musky character. I would describe the Eau Tropicale scent as light, fresh and fun, but not girly. It is very balances, refined and sophisticated, a statement of luxury that comes in a beautifully designed bottle, a signature Sisley perfume bottle with a twist.

The transparent bottle feaured purple colored bottom that gradually fades towards the top into a transparent clear glass. The clear cup resembles a carved piece of ice and has been designed by a Polish artist Bronislaw Krzysztof. The watercolor illustrations decorating the label on the bottle and the perfume box are by the artist Christina Radzvill. I think this fragrance is perfect for summertime, tropical vacation or any vacation by the beach. The only downside is that it does not last long and needs to be repplied during the day. Considering a very high price point for the Eau de Toilette, I cannot say with 100% confidence that I can recommend Sisley Eau Tropicale to someone looking for a long lasting power in perfumes.
