For those of us who love and cherish the all time classic movies, Urban Decay prepared quite a surprise, the new make-up collection, called “Pulp Fiction”, designed to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the film. The eye, lip and nail colors are designed to recreate the iconic image of Mrs. Mia Wallace played in the film by Uma Thurman. To be honest, I am not a big fan of bold eye and lip colors and that was the reason I stayed away from the eye palette and lipstick. But since I love and use bold and bright nail shades, I’ve decided to give the Urban Decay Mrs. Mia Wallace Nail Color a try. The gorgeous deep burgundy red shade looks very pretty both in the bottle and on the nails. It has a very subtle shimmer particles in bronze, copper and gold that are almost invisible once applied on the nails. The deep wine red color changes depending on lighting. In the daylight, it looks bright cherry red and the shimmer is more visible, while in dim light, the color changes to several shades darker to almost resemble dark burgundy red and the shimmer it almost not visible at all.
It needs a two coat application for a perfect streak free and even look. I applied it over Butter London Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat and followed with Deborah Lippmann Hard Rock Hardening Top Coat. The Urban Decay Mrs. Mia Wallace Nail Color has a lng lasting forumar similar to other Urban Decay’s nail colors. When moderately exposed to the water, the nail polish lasts about 5 days without any chipping. The polish comes in a signature Urban Decay nail color bottle, but has a black twistable cap, as compared to the Urban Decay standard gunmetal nail polish caps. The top of the cap is decorated with a 3d skull, in tune with the pitch-dark humor of the Pulp Fiction black comedy. Priced at $15.00 for a 0.30 fl. oz. bottle, it is very affordable compared to other luxe nail polishes.
