Clinique, Chubby Stick, 02 Whole Lotta Honey

Do you feel like your lips are get dry way too often this cold winter season? If so, you should consider using lip balm instead of your regular lipstick or lip gloss. Many brands (Tart, Fresh) offer tinted lip balms, of which Clinique’s Chubby Sticks are one of the most popular ones. The generous size of the product and moisturizing qualities make it a number one favorite of many of my friends, who continue to use it for many winter seasons. I decided to give it a try, since I ran out of my Korres Lip Butters and needed a new lip balm. I also liked the fact that I would not need to grab it drom the jar using my fingers, like I did in the past when using Korres Lip Butters, which proved to be quite inconvenient, and especially so when you are out in the street and your fingers are not quite clean to stick them in the jar with the product, and then after you use the product, your finger is sticky and you are looking for tissue paper to wipe it off. The convenience of Clinique Chubby Stick is its pencil like packaging, which to my excitement does not even need sharpening – all you need to do is to swivel up to reveal more of the balm.

I decided to try it in a “02 Whole Lotta Honey” tint. It turned out to be creamy semi-transparent super-nourishing balm, which is fragrance free, so it does not smell of mint, fruits, candies or other yummy mouth watering stuff. I do not know whether this is a plus or not, but maybe the fact that is fragrance free will allow to use this practical product without placing a special emphasis of it being on your lips. The Chubby Stick instantly plumped my lips and kept them moisturized for 2 hours (until I had my snack). I reapplied it several times a day and by the evening, the lips looked and felt comfortably soft, smooth and moisturized. The chubby stock is said to be loaded with mango and shea butters. The Chubby Stick currently exists in 16 natural-looking lip shades, each with a subtle sheen. Because the product comes in a pretty generous size, I do not know whether I would get a chance to try it in other colors this season, but if I run out of this one, I will probably consider getting it in a “Heaping Hazelnut” tint.
